By Air

Commercial: Fly into Oakland Airport. Rent a car and head north on I-880 to I-580. Do not take the Bay Bridge into San Francisco, but head towards Richmond. You will cross the Richmond bridge going towards San Rafael. Continue north on Highway 101. Follow the directions "From the Bay Area" below. Total driving time to Occidental is about 2 to 2-1/2 hours depending on traffic. There is an airport shuttle service, "Airport Express (www.airportexpressinc.com)" which has several stops in Sonoma County if there are relatives or friends available to pick you up. They have buses going to both Oakland and San Francisco Airports which stop at Sonoma County Airport, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, and Petaluma.

Private: Fly into Sonoma County (Charles Schultz) Airport (there is currently no commercial air service into this airport). Rent a car. From Airport Blvd, go south (turn right) on Laughlin Rd. Note that Skylane Blvd is to the left and Laughlin is to the right. In about 2 miles, turn right on River Road. Go another 2 miles and turn left on Olivet Road. In a little over 2 miles, Olivet Road will deadend on Guerneville Road. Turn right. In about 3 miles, Guerneville Road will deadend on Gravenstein Hwy (Hwy 116). Turn left. In about a mile, turn right at Graton Road. In about 6 miles, Graton Road will deadend on Bohemian Highway. Turn left and you will be in Downtown Occidental in about one long block. Total driving time to Occidental is about 35 minutes.

By Car

From the Bay Area: Go north on Highway 101 to Highway 12 in Santa Rosa. Head west on Highway 12 towards Sebastopol. At the first traffic signal (Fulton Road), turn right and immediately get into the left lane and make the first left on Occidental Road. Occidental Road ends in Downtown Occidental. Total driving time from Santa Rosa area to Occidental is about 35-40 minutes.

From North of Santa Rosa: Go south on Highway 101 to Highway 12 in Santa Rosa. Head west on Highway 12 towards Sebastopol. At the first traffic signal (Fulton Road), turn right and immediately get into the left lane and make the first left on Occidental Road. Occidental Road ends in Downtown Occidental. Total driving time from Santa Rosa area to Occidental is about 35-40 minutes.

Gasoline

There are no gas stations in Occidental. Be sure that you have plenty of gas before heading into Downtown Occidental. The nearest gas station is on the corner of Highway 116 and Occidental Road, about 6.5 miles from Occidental. Their pumps are open 24 hours if you have a credit card to use when the attendant station is closed.
